Before Hanalei was born, Wayan and I wondered how Taxi was going to take to the new addition. Taxi is a wonderful dog, but does require A LOT of attention. We brought home a Hanalei sented blanket for Taxi to smell before bringing Hanalei home from the hospital in December, like the books say. Taxi took the new addition in stride, she did not act up or cause any problems..... She just ignored Hanalei, except for an occasional lick. When Hanalei got a little older and started trying to touch Taxi, she would just get up and move. When Hanalei began tracking, she would watch Taxi run back and forth chasing a ball and would squeal out in delight. I don't know if Taxi has just gotten used to Hanalei, or is more interested because Hanalei can move around, but now they are best friends!!! Taxi lets her pull her tail, grab her ears, take her toys and curl up with her. Taxi is also super protective and wont let any other dogs near her stroller at the dog park and rests at our feet keeping other dogs away. I'm so happy my two girls get along!
