Anything Good & Tasty in the Fridge?

Now that I can stand up on my own, I've taken to looking in the fridge for tasty things to eat. Middle of the night, early afternoon, it doesn't matter when - if I am hungry I can now go to the fridge and find something for myself.

I only have one small problem - I can only reach the freezer and frozen foods are so hard to chew with my little teeth.

Shhh... I am rabbit hunting

Grrr... Stay clear little bunnies. Be fearful fast jackrabbits. Know I am here all creatures of the backyard. I am Hanalei and I am hunting. I am in search of tasty morsels I can put in my mouth. I am past leaves - its your lives I want.

See my lioness poise, my cat-quick reflexes, my endless drool. Yes, do not think you can out race me - my turbo crawl with catch you, and victory shall be mine. For I am Hanalei, and I am hunting!

With the dreaded swine flu swirling around Washington DC, I took Hanalei to the city's inoculation center for her shot.  Driving around the outside of the school and not seeing a line, I thought this would be a quick experience.  How wrong I was.

After I parked, I took my little love-muffin into the school without her diaper bag.  Expecting only a 10-20 minute wait, as I figured I was early enough to miss the lines, I didn't think I would need it.  Then I saw the line inside.  Stretching around the school auditorium, we were gonna be in for a wait.

An hour later, we were seated in the auditorium, doing a chair dance as the DC government health workers had us herded through their hoops.  And hour after that, we were getting close to the shot - and to our wits end.  Just look how Hanalei felt about the slow progress.

But the shot itself?  Over in seconds and Hanalei cried, but only for a few minutes.  We were out the door to Giant where she forgot all about the H1N1 torture.

Little Lenin Pointing the Way

This would be Hanalei last summer, imitating one of my great heroes, Vladimir Ilich Ulyanov, in his classic "pointing the way forward" pose. For those that have been to our house, you'll know what I mean.

For the res tof you, take this image to heart, as Hanalei is charting her own future from the perch of a baby jogger. Its not a train car or a podium in Red Square, but to her dad, its close enough.

Hanalei feeding the dog her Thanksgiving meal!

Hanalei's new favorite game is feeding my parent's dog, Isabella - her own meals! This new favorite game began on Thanksgiving. This has wrecked havoc on her meal times and now everything I put on her tray is either hand fed to the dog or thrown to the floor. We have had to institute a no dog zone for meals and lets hope Hanalei starts eating her finger foods again.

I'm not a big fan of hat's anymore, except for Daddy's hat!  I like to take it on and off my head and play peek-a-boo!

I'm Hanalei and I'm Chilling

Now I know I am crazy cute, and I know my parents love me, but sometimes they get all crazy over the smallest moves I make. Like the way I am chilling on the stairs in this photo.

Mom gets all googly eyed when she sees this photo. Like I am doing something amazing. I'm not. I'm just me, and I am sooo cute.

So world, be ready, I'm gonna take you over right after I'm done relaxing.

How Much for the Baby in Isle 4?

When you are shopping for a baby, be sure to check your local Giant Grocery Store. Sometimes they have specials on Damn Cute Babies. Amy and I were lucky enough to find a Hanalei in isle 4 that was part of a 2 for 1 special.

We snatched her up quick and here we are checking out with our beloved little daughter:

A Halloween Flower Emerges

Happy Hanalei Halloween!

For her first Halloween, Hanalei rocked out several costumes. Starting with this little pumpkin outfit, she got all excited about dressing up. Granted, she didn't stay up late enough to give candy to trick-or-treaters, nor could she eat any of the candy, but she was in the Halloween spirit none the less.

Just check out how excited she is emerging as a beautiful purple flower on Halloween Day:
